Annual Artist Cohort
Arts Access & Local Artist Empowerment
ArtPop’s Annual Artist Cohort activates public spaces with engaging locally-made artworks! This flagship program transforms our community by exhibiting 20 Charlotte-region artists on billboards and displays throughout the region, and beyond!
Each year’s cohort comprises 19 adults and 1 high-school senior student, who are selected by a jury process. The program artists also receive educational, networking, and marketing benefits to foster sustainable creative careers!

ArtPop is working diligently behind the scenes on a new strategic growth plan, including expanded scope of existing divisions and a brand refresh.
When this work is completed, we will share it with the community and announce our next Open Call. We thank you for your patience. -
Please refer to our Submission Guidelines page for full details on Artist Eligibility and Requirements.
-
Eligible submissions are blind-reviewed by a jury of artists, curators, and community figures based on what will make great public art displays.
This jury will review each applicant’s submitted billboard artwork without knowledge of the artist’s name, credentials, or other identifying information.
Applicant artwork is considered both individually and as a group to curate a wide variety of artistic mediums and a collection of artwork that will make an impact through public displays within the greater Charlotte region.
