The #ArtPopCLT Cities Program is an annual juried exhibition with a twist - the gallery is the entire Charlotte metropolitan region: on billboards, digital displays, & more!
Each year, 20 local artists are showcased on donated public media space, and receive benefits including educational opportunities, features at artist events, and more - all to foster sustainable careers in the arts and to make art accessible to all.

Join us in welcoming the 20 talented local artists who have been juried into ArtPop’s Charlotte-region Cities Program Class of 2025! Throughout the year, artworks by 19 adults and 1 high school senior will be exhibited on billboards and public ad displays.

During the Fall of each year, ArtPop hosts an Open Call inviting local artists to submit their artwork to be considered for the Cities Program.
We encourage creatives to follow our social media channels and sign up for our quarterly newsletter for updates about our Open Call!

Eligible artists who are adults 18+ who have an active artist website, and high school seniors looking to study art through higher education.
Applicants must live within one of the counties in which ArtPop operates, and cannot be an artist accepted into ArtPop’s Cities Program in the prior 3 years.

Applying artists can submit one piece of original artwork cropped to billboard dimensions*, as well as an artist statement. The entre fee is $30 for applying adults, and $10 for applying high school senior students.
* Your digital artwork file should be sized at 7” tall x 24” wide, at 300dpi with no branding panel visible. Template files will be made available during the open call period.

Eligible submissions are blind-reviewed by a jury of art professionals, collectors, and ArtPop alumni based on what will make great public art displays - no names, just the artwork.
After the jurying process is complete, all applicants will be notified by email or phone of whether or not they have been selected.

Our outdoor advertising spaces are graciously donated from several media partners such as Adams Outdoor Advertising, Awedience Media, and more!
In addition to our media partners, ArtPop receives support from the Lending Tree Foundation Cohort Alliance.

While our Cities Program is a year-long juried exhibition of 20 artists’ work on public displays throughout the Charlotte Metropolitan region, Inspiration Projects are individual jobs managed by ArtPop, in which we are working with artists to help us provide creative solutions for a clients’ needs.

The selected artists for a given year make up the “Class” of that year.
We use “alum” to refer to artists who were juried into the Cities Program in previous years.
