Hilary Siber Edwards - Exterior Installation for Lowe’s Tech Hub

Location: 100 W Worthington Ave, Charlotte, NC 28203
Completed:
Summer 2023

For the exterior component of this collaboration between ArtPop and Gökotta, we teamed up with Cities Program ‘18 Alumni Hilary Siber Edwards to design a unique public art piece to be installed on the exterior of the Lowe’s Tech Hub in Charlotte, NC.

Following nearly two years of planning, fabrication, and installation work that went into this project, the result is ‘Double Take’ - a striking installation of dichroic glass and fiber-optic cables that stretches 6+ stories, greeting drivers and pedestrians below.

Each evening, the fiber-optic cables running vertically through the piece light up, softly illuminating the South End area from the side of the Lowe’s Tech Hub building.

Artist Testimonial:

I really wanted to celebrate Lowe’s Tech Hub - that this place is literally a hub, of technology, of materials, of innovation. And so I wanted anything that was on the side of the building to communicate what happening inside of the building.
