ArtPop Gets a Brand New Look

Dive Behind the Scenes of the ArtPop Rebrand

2022 and 2023 mark the start of a new chapter for us here at ArtPop Street Gallery! With the 10th Anniversary of the ArtPop Cities Program at hand, the 7th Anniversary of ArtPop becoming a 501c3 non-profit, and the opportunity of a brand new decade in our sights, it was the perfect time to bring a fresh new look to the ArtPop brand. We are happy to have developed a brand to represent the new face and impact of who ArtPop Street Gallery is today.

Allow us to reintroduce ourselves!

THE HISTORY

ArtPop’s original branding came to life years ago, drawing on the organization’s name “ArtPop,” which is a shortened version of “Art + Public Outdoor Project.” The original ‘bubble-style’ branding was compact and punchy to easily tuck into media displays and stand out on the road - without distracting too much from the artwork. This initial branding grew and evolved over the years alongside our organization. However, on the precipice of our 10th Anniversary #ArtPopCLT Cities Program, we knew that our brand was ready for a refresh to allow us to best showcase our organization, our mission, and our artists as we move forward.

THE LOGO

This rebrand is a new look, the same name, and the same - but growing - ArtPop Street Gallery. ArtPop is bold, vibrant, and creative, but we needed a brand that would let the talent and creativity of our ArtPop Cities Program and Inspiration Projects artists really shine. The new logo is simple, sophisticated, and charming. The bold typography represents the seriousness of our work and mission, while the accenting serifs in ‘Art’ show that we’re also ready to let loose and have a little fun. Tucked within the logo is a subtle reference to our origins - the original street gallery. With the small perspective of a highway incorporated into the ‘O’ of ArtPop, we honor where we came from and all of the future achievements and places we’re excited for and ready to go.

THE SUBMARK

Boiling down to the simplest version of our brand, our submark - or secondary logo - comes into play when we just need a touch of ArtPop tucked into the smallest places. The submark expands the subtle highway design of the full logo’s ‘O’ and nests our dual-type ‘AP’ in its center.

THE TYPOGRAPHY

Continuing the juxtaposition of serious and playful from our logo, our brand fonts combine a bold geometric sans-serif in Josefin Sans with a light, sophisticated serif in Source Serif Pro.

THE COLORS

Our new brand colors start with our roots - keeping the iconic Sky Blue that’s so well known with ArtPop Street Gallery. A bright Highway Gold joins as a primary brand color creating striking contrast and calling back to our ‘street gallery’ billboards.

Cool Charcoal and Dove Grey tones join the lineup to keep us grounded, while bright Inspiration Orange, Berry, and Leaf Green join as accent colors representative of our Inspiration Projects, Community Events, and Upcycling Initiatives.
