ArtPop was contacted by the City of Charlotte to create a team building exercise for their Mayor’s Youth Employment Program where their team could have an artistic experience and learn more about one another. To bring this vision to life, ArtPop connected their team to Leigh B. Williams, local artist and Cities Program alum from both the Class of 2014 and 2023!
Leigh crafted a fun group activity that introduced participants to the wonderful properties and potential of painting with alcohol ink. During the activity, Leigh guided the participants in creating three original alcohol ink paintings on Yupo paper. Elements of color theory, composition, and paint pour techniques were taught through example and demonstrations in a fun, encouraging, and interactive environment where no prior experience was necessary! At the end, each participant left with three original 5” x 7” paintings, and they were also given a guided tour of the VAPA Center!
