The Blue Cross NC team once again partnered with ArtPop’s Inspiration Projects division to support and showcase more local artists in their community-focused Charlotte Center! The result was the creation of The Local Artist Gallery, a space where Charlotte-area creatives can exhibit their work within this community-focused center. The inaugural exhibition in this space featured two artists from our Cities Program Class of 2024: Malaysha K. Belton and Lily Roman!
Installation
A picture-hanging system was installed to allow artworks to be easily hung, moved, and changed out in the Local Artist Gallery.
Gallery Reception
To kickoff this premier exhibition, Blue Cross NC and ArtPop hosted a Gallery Reception event on Friday, August 16th, 2024. During this free, open to the public event, members of the community had the opportunity to view the artworks and meet both Malaysha and Lily! Attendees also got to check out our 2023 Inspiration Projects Mural by Marcus Kiser and our entire Class of 2024 featured on digital displays! The catering for this event was graciously provided by our friends at Carolina Farm Trust.
